The opening is immediate and arresting: blackcurrant bud absolute, one of the most piercing, tenacious raw materials in perfumery, bursts with a vivid, jammy tartness that is simultaneously fruity and green, like crushed berries still warm from the sun. As the fragrance opens, black tea absolute and cinnamon essential oil weave through the blackcurrant with extraordinary skill adding smokiness, spice, and an almost culinary warmth that calls to mind a samovar on a forest evening.
